Australian Capital Territory
The Australian Capital Territory is a popular destination for exploring with the kids and it is no surprise given how many amazing places there are to go.
The ACT is home to the Royal Australian Mint where money is made, the High Court of Australia where legal history is made, the National Museum of Australia where history is kept and the National Library of Australia where surprising discoveries can be made.
There are many free activities you can do with the kids, including visiting any of the beautiful gardens in and around the ACT. Autumn in Canberra is a beautiful time when the thousands of trees put on a spectacular display of colour.
Venturing out from Canberra City is Mt Stromlo Observatory where you can take the kids on a self guided tour along the Mt Stromlo Heritage trail. Although the cafe and Visitor Centre are currently closed, the Heritage trail and the Director’s trail are still open to the public during the day.
